Abstract

This article studies rescue programs of public spaces designed and implementated by local town halls of Guadalajara, Mexico during the years 2006-2012. The convergence and divergence between the approach of public policy and the notion of public spaces is precised. The case of Bogotá, Colombia is highly valued by the local and political actors as a case to emulate and the political and institutional context of the municipal governments of Guadalajara, Jalisco is analyzed. Finally, the programs are analyzed in order to value logic and coherence. The factors of incidence in the local public function are also evaluated.
