Más Allá del Fascismo: Una agenda de investigación sobre la nueva ultraderecha en América Latina

Una nueva ultraderecha ha ganado poder en América Latina durante el último par de décadas. Las ideas de fascismo y nazismo reflejaron adecuadamente el desarrollo de fuerzas ideológicas autoritarias, xenófobas y populistas durante la primera mitad del siglo XX. No obstante, los estudios suelen coincidir en que reconocer las recientes expresiones de los grupos políticos anti-democráticos de derecha requiere conceptos innovadores que reflejen características nuevas. El artículo presenta dos avenidas de investigación futura estratégicamente elegidas a través de un recorrido conceptual e histórico de la nueva ultraderecha y sus vínculos con el fascismo. Primero, explicamos que el crecimiento de la nueva ultraderecha depende en gran medida de la evolución de las relaciones y disputas entre esa derecha y otra más moderada. En segundo lugar, mostramos que explorar el desarrollo de la sociedad civil de ultraderecha con una perspectiva explicativa y analítica, es también fundamental si queremos entender su crecimiento reciente.
