Editorial policies for Dossier Coordinators

The procedure for producing the monographs and the role of the coordinator in charge are specified below.

I. Presentation of articles.

  1. Articles should be no more than 20 pages long and include abstracts, footnotes, a bibliography, tables, graphs, illustrations, photographs, and maps.
  2. Articles should be submitted in single-spaced Times New Roman 12-point font with 2.5 cm margins. The text should be in letter size and paginated.
  3. Footnotes are footnotes in Times New Roman 10-point font, single-spaced.
  4. The first page should contain a 250- to 300-word summary of the article. This should include the following: Objective/Context, Methodology, Originality, and Conclusions. The extended abstract aims to make articles more visible and, at the same time, to make it easier for potential readers to determine whether or not a piece of content is of interest to them.
  5. The abstract, keywords and title should be presented in English and Portuguese.
  6. The abstract should include four to six keywords related to the article.
  7. The author's name must not appear in the article.
  8. Articles must use the MLA citation system.
  9. All articles must be submitted through the Journal's platform. These are not received via email.

For more information, please review the Journal's Editorial Guidelines and Policies.

II. Functions of the Guest Coordinators.

The selected issue coordinators will work in collaboration with the general editor and will be responsible for the following specific tasks:

  1. They will elaborate on the call for papers in Spanish, English, and Portuguese, identifying the objectives of the monograph in a summarised, clear, and concise manner.
  2. They will actively participate in the dissemination of the call for papers.
  3. They will propose to the general editor potential reviewers who are experts in the monograph's field of knowledge. The coordinator must confirm that all of them are available to evaluate articles for the dossier.
  4. They will participate in the internal editorial review of each text before external reviewers carry out the two reviews.
  5. They should inform invited authors that all papers received in the Journal must conform to the publication guidelines and will be subject to a blind peer review process.
  6. They will collaborate with the Editorial Team and two members of the Editorial Board to select the papers received through open calls for papers.
  7. They may propose the invitation of 1 article to an expert of recognised prestige in the area of the topic addressed in the monograph, which, due to its relevance and previous contributions, is of particular interest. This article, which may be more essayistic and innovative, will not be submitted for peer review, and it will be indicated in the publication that it has been received "by invitation." It will be published in the Theory and Debate section.
  8. They will jointly write the monograph's introductory article, setting out the state of the art of the topic addressed. They will refer to the innovation that each of the articles finally included brings to their knowledge.
  9. They will actively participate in disseminating the monograph once it has been published through all the media and channels available to them and collaborate in those dissemination activities that the Journal deems appropriate.
  10. If the Journal provides for this, they must carry out the final editing review in accordance with the specified indications and deadlines.
  11. If the Journal provides for this, they must carry out the final editing review in accordance with the specified indications and deadlines.
  12. Suggest two reviewers for each text submitted (full name, institution, country, and email). They should be PhD candidates or Ph. Ds and have experience in the subject. Each external reviewer should attend a maximum of two articles. Before suggesting reviewers, the coordinators will contact them to ensure acceptance of the request.
  13. Invite Spanish and foreign experts (ideally 70%, PhDs 100%) to the subject, meet deadlines, and collaborate closely with the editorial team.
  14. The image of the dossier must be managed by the invited coordinators, complying with the image ownership rights.
  15. The coordinators are aware of and accept the guidelines in the section "Publication ethics" (see journal guidelines).
