Comparative analysis of public administrators training colleges in Chile: contents, trends and perspectives

Abstract

The Public Administrators career training in Chile has been consolidating since the increase of universities delivering this professional degree as well as finding  itself in a favorable position according to official data from the point of view of employability and wages. This paper shows study results for the comparison of five public administration career experiences that were selected using a representative criteria that permits the inclusión of three universities in Santiago and two regional ones of which three are public and two are private. The aim is to establish a comparative model from selected and relevant variables, find keys to career development, find followed trends and potential prospects from the constraints and needs of today´s Public Administration that is set from professional skills and competitions desirable for the coming years.
