The second issue of 2018 presents the theme "Non-conventional Renewable Energy and Communities." Taking as its starting point the rejection of the construction of large-scale electricity projects in Latin America in recent years, it emphasizes the interest this phenomenon has generated in incorporating communities into the planning and development of the energy process. Some articles will offer proposals for the most desired paths of coexistence by communities and institutions. It will explore how the level of community participation is a fundamental challenge for energy production; it also analyzes the social implications of the socio-technical network created by the opening of the hydroelectric market in Chile. It also examines the Distributed Generation process implemented in the province of Santa Fe, Argentina, as a model for the region. and through the case of Coyhaique, it recounts the role that communities played in defending their own energy model between 2012 and 2015. The issue also offers reviews of Maps of Violence, by Dr. Ana María Zubieta, which reflects on this phenomenon through philosophy, aesthetics, politics, among other disciplines, and Geopolitical Reasoning by Juan Eduardo Mendoza Pinto, which expresses the concern of exposing the layout of geopolitics from its origins to the present.
