Technostress and individual work performance in Mexican teleworking university teachers

The objective of this research was to analyze the relationship between technostress and individual job performance of 219 Mexican university teleworking teachers. A quantitative, non-experimental, cross-sectional, correlational research was conducted. A negative relationship between technostress and teachers' performance is evidenced. In the results, women report higher levels of technoanxiety. Marital status and educational level influence the dimensions of technostress and job performance. Teachers in common-law unions reported higher levels of technoaddiction, while those with a technical background had higher levels of technoanxiety and technofatigue compared to their colleagues with higher education. Teachers who telework entirely from home presented higher levels of technoaddiction. On the other hand, those with a remote office or partially teleworking showed better task performance.
