Ciudades Secundarias en una Nueva Geografía Económica

Una Mirada desde el Desarrollo Económico Local

Resumen

La internacionalización de la producción ha contribuido a generar una nueva geografía económica que ha significado importantes desafíos para las ciudades. Existen ciudades integradas a la economía global y mejor preparadas para enfrentar los procesos de automatización: sin embargo, otras no han logrado penetrar en las cadenas globales de valor (CGV), estando además en mayor riesgo frente al proceso de automatización. Utilizando elementos del enfoque de Desarrollo Económico Local (DEL), este artículo propone cuatro ejes abordar los desafíos que la nueva geografía económica contempla para las ciudades secundarias cuales, estando menos preparadas que otras ciudades para integrarse en la economía global, albergan la mayor parte de la población mundial.
