Migration and Public Security
Perceptions and Data in Region of Tarapaca, Chile

In this article, it searches for examining the intersection between migration and public security in the Region of Tarapacá, Chile. Through an integral approach, it gathers infor-mation and analyzes both the set of dispersed data from various governmental agencies, e.g., the Police forces, and the perceptions of community as well, key actors, including the Aimara aboriginal population. Thus, it discloses there are complex patterns of interaction between migration, above all irregular, though also in general, and security, expressing the need to deal with these phenomena in an integral and integrity shape from the public policies on the part of the various involved central and regional actors.
