Since the social crisis on October 2019 in Chile, the debate on economic policy has become more relevant, questioning the minimal State approach that do not react to market failures and does not promote productive transformations. A new macroeconomics of development must articulate a diversified growth base, redistribution of assets and incomes, decentralization, social economy, carbon-neutrality and a sustainable territorial planning. This article proposes four essential points over which the new macroeconomics of development articulates in the chilean case: a new institutionalism for development and wellbeing, growth and degrowth, redistribution and structural transformation.
