From Migration Crisis to Inclusion. Ecuador Heading Discrimination and Xenophobia Towards Venezuelan Citizens

The political and economic crisis in Venezuela has generated a high impact in Ecuador. The migratory phenomenon has grown in recent years and is now presented as one of the main concerns of the Ecuadorian national government. The public policy generated for this situation has tried to limit this migratory flow, however, this has relegated the diverse needs of the migrants who already entered and reside in the national territory. The present work focuses on solving one of these problems by proposing a public policy of social and economic integration, aimed at reducing cases of xenophobia and discrimination against Venezuelan citizens. The work manages a focus on results management and proposes a methodology based on the theory of change to influence the current situation.
