Abstract

During the current year, the Chilean feminist movement has broken out with great force, with shades and edges, has taken over the Chilean political agenda during first semester within a context of an institutional power vacuum that is only reactive before the new demands. The feminist struggle, with all its peculiarities, is inscribed, like other movements of recent date, in the context of the crisis of traditional historical actors and the emergence of concrete protagonists, bearers of particular but very realistic demands that they interpret, in a very fragmented society, to specific actors. In this scenario it is worth asking, as has already happened with other movements and protests that weaken after a boom period, if the feminist struggle is inscribed, like other demands, in a general criticism of the inherited violent patriarchal model and its form more contemporary specific of domination: neoliberalism.
