Reforma Educacional en Chile, Miedo y Hegemonía

Abstract

The main iniciative about educational matters during the first year of the second term of Michelle Bachelet´s government (2014-2018) is the passing of the bill of student selection, the end of parental fees and of school profiting with State funding. Several interest groups and scholar of neoliberal and neoconservative orientation have answered to this iniciative in mass media underlining the end of private schools, nationalization of education, property expropriation, restrictions on the right to choose and the weakening of the middle class.
