Abstract

Territorial governance processes in the Vale dos Vinhedos wine region, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, has been characterized by the generation of collaborative networks of wine companies, government agencies, as well as producer associations. That is why this article aims to identify the way in which governance processes have influenced the development of wine and tourism in this oenological region. In this sense, it is highlighted that the oenological agroindustries have ensured that the wine production chain, from production to marketing, are distinguished by the quality and certification of their processes. These characteristics have led to the consolidation of a production where a variety of products and services stand out, promoting valorization strategies, where the presence of products with Denomination of Origin (DO) has allowed this wine-growing area to position itself as one of the most important of America.
