Abstract

This descriptive research analyses the impact of the Lowenthal Reengineering Model in the educational process of the Computational Mathematics subject during the 2017 school year. It should be mentioned that this reengineering model is used with the purpose of modifying the teaching-learning conditions in the Boolean algebra Unit through the incorporation of the Crocodile Clips simulator. The Boolean algebra refers to rules based on set theory that allow the handling of mathematical logic. The variables of this study are the Technical quality (Assimilation of knowledge and Development of skills during the design, construction, simulation and application of digital circuits by means of technology), Functional quality (Perception of the educational process), Quality of the technological service (Simulator Crocodile clips) and the Profile of the client (Characteristics of the student). The obtained results allow affirming that the stages of the Lowenthal Reengineering Model (preparation, planning, design and evaluation of the change) improve the educational process through the Crocodile Clips simulator. Likewise, the findings of this research indicate that reengineering has a positive impact on the learning of university students. Finally, teachers have the opportunity to improve educational conditions through the process reengineering.
