PRIORITIZATION OF TABLE GRAPE SUPPLIERS IN CONSIGNMENT SYSTEM

Abstract

The production of table grapes in Brazil, especially in the São Francisco Valley, is an activity of great economic importance. In this region, many companies focus on marketing fresh grapes either at a fixed price or on consignment. It was found that the company, the subject of this study, could not supply all its internal and external customers with its own production, necessitating the purchase of fruits from third parties, mainly through fixed price purchases and consignment. Therefore, this study proposes prioritizing suppliers for consignment purchase partnerships using the PROMETHEE II method, which considers qualitative and quantitative criteria in a non-compensatory approach. This study considered one decision-maker, 30 suppliers as alternatives, and 5 criteria. The data were initially tabulated in Excel and then processed in Visual Promethee. The top-ranked alternatives were A2 and A1, while A30 and A25 were ranked last. The sensitivity of the criteria was evaluated, highlighting C1 as the most sensitive and C4 as the least sensitive. The results of this research were integrated into the company's strategic planning. It is concluded that PROMETHEE II was effective in ranking the suppliers. Finally, it is recommended to study more the criteria and apply other methods to different agricultural crops for future studies.
