¿Quién gana en el mercado del arroz? Información asimétrica y transmisión de precios en el mercado arrocero de Indonesia

Este estudio examina cómo se transmiten los precios del arroz de los agricultores a otras agencias de comercialización. Utiliza datos mensuales sobre los precios del arroz a nivel de productor (agricultor), molinero y mayorista de arroz entre 2010 y 2024 en Indonesia. El método empleado es la regresión del modelo de corrección de errores. Los hallazgos indican la presencia de integración y asimetría del mercado en la transmisión vertical de los precios del arroz entre los agricultores y otras agencias de comercialización, tanto a corto como a largo plazo. La transmisión asimétrica de precios se debe al abuso de poder de mercado y a los costos de ajuste. El gobierno debe supervisar los precios del arroz, garantizar un comercio justo, detectar irregularidades y fomentar una mayor participación en los mercados arroceros.
