Scope

As of 2/2025 (Volume 15, N° 26) the objective of the Palimpsesto journal will be to disseminate research results and critical reflection that contribute to understanding contemporary phenomena from a gender perspective or on problems and categories of gender and intersectional studies, such as gender relations, sexual dissidence, feminisms, masculinities, epistemologies and feminist methodologies, among others, with emphasis on the Ibero-American space. It will seek to provide a space for critical and innovative thinking and research that expands its own frontiers, as well as academic debate. It will also be interested in facilitating the link between academic production and actors/actresses and social movements at national and regional level and the strengthening of this field of studies in Chile as well as in America and the Caribbean. Furthermore, it assumes an ethos and a sex-politics of knowledge that problematizes and makes visible the strong relationships between knowledge, society and power and the questioning and transforming power of the gender category itself, even more so when used in articulation with other axes of inequality such as class, age, ethnicity, sexuality, etc. It also aims to contribute to the strengthening of research practices with territorial and social commitment that question universal and supposedly neutral knowledge in order to make visible the impact of the sexual contract in research, as well as the multiplicity of experiences and the multiplicity of the different forms of gender inequality.
