This paper presents a methodology to identify the progress of the knowledge management (KM) process in the research and development area (R & D) of Cementos Argos company, knowing the characteristics that involve an area of these from the perspective of creation of new knowledge, technological development and knowledge transfer to operations. The proposal is the result of the study of relevant models, knowledge of the characteristics and diagnosis and evaluation of the possibilities of adoption for companies that have the responsibility from R&D to transfer knowledge to their subsidiaries to contribute to sustainability of the corporation.
The identification of the degree of progress of the evaluated processes allows the R&D areas to focus their efforts on those with the lowest qualification and to take the necessary actions that allow them to achieve their own purposes for the benefit of the organization.
