Submission and receipt of article

All submissions will be pre-evaluated by the EstuDAv Editorial Team to determine if they meet the journal’s objectives and scope. Manuscripts deemed suitable will be sent for peer review (double-blind) before deciding whether they will be accepted or rejected.

Before submitting a manuscript, authors are responsible for obtaining permission to publish any material included, such as photos, documents, and datasets.

All identified authors in the submission must give their consent to be listed as authors. When applicable, research must be approved by an appropriate ethics committee according to the legal requirements of the country where the study originates. An editor may reject a submission if it does not meet the minimum quality standards.
Before submission, authors must ensure that the study design and research argument are properly structured and articulated. The title must be concise and the abstract must stand alone. This will increase the likelihood that reviewers accept the article for review.

It is necessary to register and log in to submit items to the journal and to check the status of recent submissions.

As part of the submission process, authors are required to verify that their submission meets all of the following requirements. Submissions that do not comply with these guidelines will be returned to the authors:

  1. I have read the Editorial Policies and Guidelines and understand that failure to comply with any of these 11 points will result in immediate rejection of my manuscript.

  2. I declare that the proposed article is original and has not been published or submitted to another journal or media outlet. I hereby submit the letter of reliability and commitment suggested on the OJS platform.

  3. I declare that the authors hold academic postgraduate degrees, preferably at the doctoral level.

  4. The submitted text is in Word format (.doc, .docx), has single line spacing, Times New Roman 12-point font, and a maximum length of 9,000 words, including titles, abstracts, and keywords in all three languages (Spanish, English, and Portuguese), figure captions, references, and notes.

  5. I have verified that all illustrations, figures, and tables are embedded within the text in the appropriate places and properly referenced.

  6. I declare that web addresses and DOI numbers have been added for all references that have them.

  7. I have verified that the text complies with the bibliographic and style requirements indicated in the Editorial Policies and Guidelines.

  8. I understand that the text must be submitted in two files: one identifying the authors, including their institutional affiliations and contact information, and an anonymous version with all author references removed (see anonymization instructions). Once the editorial process has started, no addition or removal of authors will be accepted, except for justified exceptions.

  9. I understand that articles that do not comply with the above standards will not be considered.

  10. I understand that submitting an article to EstuDAv implies a commitment to not submit it simultaneously to another journal or similar outlet, and that the article must be unpublished (original work). If it is discovered that the manuscript is being submitted to other journals simultaneously, the article will be rejected, and the author(s) will be banned from publishing for 2 years in any journal of the University of Santiago de Chile. Additionally, the sponsoring university will be notified of this situation.

  11. I acknowledge that the submitted manuscript will be subjected to Turnitin plagiarism detection software review.
