History of Revista Estudios Avanzados

Revista Estudios Avanzados (EstuDAv) from the Instituto de Estudios Avanzados (IDEA) at the Universidad de Santiago de Chile has been inviting studies addressing the Americas from the Global South since 2002. Universidad de Santiago de Chile is a State Higher Education Institution with a tradition dating back to 1849 in the arts and crafts. It aims to disseminate the results of original research from the arts, humanities, and social sciences with special attention to interdisciplinary approaches, where society is intertwined with nature and science with culture. This includes interpretations, analyses, and novel methodologies involving discussions on social, political, artistic, and philosophical topics, preferably emerging from Latin America. Its writings are openly accessible upon publication, exclusively online, on the Open Journal Source (OJS) platform, and can be written in Spanish, English, and Portuguese.
