Peer-review
Manuscripts that pass the preliminary editorial review will undergo double-blind peer review, whereby the identity of the authors is not disclosed to the reviewers and the identity of the reviewers remains concealed from the authors.
Each manuscript will preferably be sent to two external specialists with expertise in the subject. Reviewers will assess the quality, originality, relevance, methodological rigour, coherence of argument and scientific or applied contribution of the work.
On the basis of their reports, each reviewer may recommend:
- Accept the manuscript without changes.
- Accept subject to minor revisions.
- Request major revisions and a further review.
- Reject the manuscript.
Where reviews diverge substantially, the Editorial Team may seek the opinion of a third reviewer.
The final decision on publication rests with the Editorial Team of Revista Geoingeniería, taking into account the review reports, the authors’ responses and compliance with the journal’s editorial and ethical standards.
Reviewers’ comments will be communicated to authors via the OJS platform. Where revisions are requested, a new version of the manuscript must be submitted together with a response to the comments made.
