Evaluation format

The review process will consider, at a minimum, the following criteria:

• Relevance of the manuscript to the focus and scope of Revista Geoingeniería.
• Originality and significance of the contribution.
• Clarity and sound formulation of the research problem, objectives or questions.
• Theoretical grounding and currency of the references used.
• Appropriateness and rigour of the methodology.
• Quality and consistency of the results presented.
• Alignment between results, discussion and conclusions.
• Scientific, technical, methodological or applied contribution of the work.
• Quality of the writing, structure and presentation of the manuscript.
• Compliance with ethical principles and research integrity.

The form will also allow reviewers to include comments addressed to the authors and confidential comments intended solely for the Editorial Team.

On completing the review, the reviewer must make one of the following editorial recommendations:

• Accept without changes.
• Accept with minor revisions.
• Request major revisions.
• Reject.
