Historia

The current institutional phase of Revista Geoingeniería is based in the Department of Geospatial and Environmental Engineering of the Faculty of Engineering at the Universidad de Santiago de Chile, with the aim of strengthening scientific dissemination in geoengineering, geomatics, Earth sciences, territory and the environment. Its editorial project was conceived as an interdisciplinary platform for publishing original research, methodological developments, case studies and applied analyses, under peer review and open access.

In 2026, the journal’s proposal was submitted to the Directorate of Scientific and Technological Research (DICYT) of the Universidad de Santiago de Chile. On 28 July 2026, the DICYT Council of Scientific Editors unanimously approved the project, and on 5 August the journal was formally authorised to join the University’s institutional repository of scientific and technological journals. This new phase seeks to consolidate a national and regional publication of reference, with international editorial standards and a progressive strategy for visibility and indexing
