Publication ethics

Revista Geoingeniería promotes integrity, transparency, originality and accountability at every stage of the scientific publication process.

Authors are responsible for the originality and accuracy of the works they submit and must ensure that the data, results, images, references and other material included in the manuscript have been obtained, used and presented in an honest and verifiable manner.

The journal does not tolerate plagiarism, self-plagiarism, fabrication or falsification of data, inappropriate manipulation of results, duplicate publication, gift or ghost authorship, unjustified exclusion of authors, undeclared conflicts of interest or any other conduct that undermines research integrity.

Where research involves people, communities, sensitive information or other matters subject to specific ethical requirements, authors must declare compliance with the relevant institutional and regulatory provisions and, where applicable, report the approval obtained from a competent ethics committee.

Sources of funding and potential conflicts of interest must be declared transparently.

The use of artificial intelligence tools must be disclosed in accordance with the journal’s specific policy. Such tools cannot be credited as authors, and their use does not relieve authors of responsibility for the accuracy, originality, attribution of sources and integrity of the content submitted.

Should possible ethical breaches be detected, Revista Geoingeniería may request further information, suspend the editorial process, reject the manuscript and, in the case of works already published, apply the appropriate correction or retraction measures.
